The custom report builder is redesigned around your question. Pick a plainly described data source, then build with Rows, Totals and Columns across: group dates by month or quarter, add subtotals and show the top 10 by any total, with a live preview. Filters read as sentences, and date filters now work. Searchable pick lists, such as Supplier, respond to mouse clicks again.

Custom report charts now use the same colours as every other report instead of black bars, the unused colour palette option is gone, and the KPI display shows the same total cards as the full report. A custom date range starts empty and is asked for when the report opens, and the dates chosen there now control the results.#283

Going back from an unsaved custom report now returns to the builder with everything still selected. The full report shows the same total cards as the builder, including counts, and months read as months. Custom report pages use the same header and width as the rest of the system, and on phones and tablets the field list opens in a panel.#285

The Chart tab of a custom report now draws the report's own totals, including counts. A report counting invoices per customer used to show "No numeric data available for chart".#290

The report builder now offers fields from related records under "From related records". Sales order lines can use the order's date, number, customer and warehouse; the general ledger can use the account's name and type, the cost center and the journal entry. Searching the field list also finds fields of related records.#291

New quotations, sales orders, delivery notes, sales invoices, purchase orders, goods receipts, supplier invoices and journal entries can now take their lines from Excel. Up to 2,000 lines per import, added below existing lines. Every row is checked first and problems are listed by row number. Not available on documents created from another document.

A new goods receipt now prices a picked or imported item at its cost instead of 0. Importing lines from Excel works again on purchase orders and delivery notes. The Excel button stays disabled until a warehouse is selected, and Cycle Count now uses the same Excel button and menu as other transactions.

On purchase orders and supplier invoices, a line's price no longer changes by itself a moment after the item is picked. A price you type, or one imported from Excel, now stays as entered, and a purchase order line stays at the item's cost instead of switching to its selling price.

Picking a bin no longer resets a line's unit. A line in an alternate unit, such as a case of 10, now keeps its conversion, so the correct base quantity is received, delivered or invoiced, and the unit name stays as chosen instead of showing Each.

A sales quotation with hundreds or thousands of lines, for example 2,000 lines added from Excel, no longer freezes or crashes the page. Above 100 lines, only the lines on screen are drawn and the rest appear as you scroll. Smaller quotations look and work exactly as before.
