An invoice has several audiences: the customer who needs to understand it, the finance team who records it and any external service or authority involved in the applicable process. ERP evaluation should identify those responsibilities before comparing screen designs.
Map the document lifecycle
Start with an approved order and a completed delivery or service milestone. Identify who creates the invoice, who approves it, how it reaches the customer and how its status is followed. Include a correction through the appropriate document process.
Keep the commercial document, the accounting entry and any external transmission distinguishable. A polished PDF does not demonstrate a completed electronic-invoicing integration.
Define the local interface scope
Have qualified advisers establish the French requirements applicable to your entity and transactions. Ask the provider to identify the exact external services, formats, implementation work and ongoing responsibilities proposed. Require current test evidence rather than relying on a broad statement of European coverage.

Test communication and language

Inspect the outstanding balance, credit note and payment using the same sample. Confirm dates, EUR and other required currencies, permissions and export options. An external status and a customer settlement are different signals and should not be confused.
